adventures in international medicine!

fortunately, our hostel’s very kind owner/caretaker/supreme master offered to accompany me on my journey through foreign healthcare. i’ve been a little sick for approximately two weeks to varying degrees of stomach issues and fatigue, finally visiting the highest rated clinic for foreigners. one blood test, the may 2008 issue of australian reader’s digest (good news folks, harrison ford is excited that indiana jones 4 is coming soon!), and $200 later, i was given tiny packets of instant electrolytes to dissolve in (clean) water and instructions to eat more and eat better. jj made it easy for me to do so, with a nice dinner of a stir fried tofu/soya/potato concoction over rice.

then 17 britons showed up at the hostel for the night (we were the only ones here). aaahhhhhhhhhh
